About the Company
Prosights is a data transformation partner to the largest private equity-backed portfolio companies. We unify messy data after M&A, turn documents into clean structured data, replace spreadsheet workflows with real software, and keep data in sync across disparate systems. We embed engineers inside the company, ship a working prototype in 48 hours, and have production software live in about four weeks. More than 70% of the 10 largest PE firms have used ProSights.
What you would build
- Target data architecture. Define canonical models, domain boundaries, system-of-record decisions, and integration contracts across acquired and legacy systems.
- Migration design. Create profiling, mapping, reconciliation, lineage, cutover, and rollback approaches for high-stakes customer, contract, financial, and operational data.
- Solution blueprints. Translate an operating workflow into a pragmatic architecture spanning source systems, databases, warehouses, applications, and AI services.
- Governance by design. Build identity, retention, data quality, auditability, access control, and stewardship into the solution from the beginning.
- Reusable patterns. Turn successful models, mappings, and decision frameworks into assets the next team can use.
What the job is actually like
- Profile imperfect data directly and challenge assumptions before drawing the target architecture.
- Run working sessions with business owners, data teams, security, finance, and third-party system integrators.
- Pair with engineers through implementation, reconciliation, and go-live rather than handing over a diagram.
- Make explicit tradeoffs between the ideal future state and the fastest safe path to customer value.
- Review architecture across multiple engagements and raise the quality bar for the whole delivery organization.
Who you are
- Experienced architect. 8+ years across data engineering, solution architecture, enterprise integration, or large-scale migration.
- Hands-on with data. Strong SQL and data modeling; comfortable profiling source systems and validating transformations yourself.
- Enterprise fluent. You understand warehouses, lakehouses, APIs, eventing, MDM, identity, governance, and the realities of ERP and CRM data.
- Business-minded. You can explain why a model or system boundary matters to a CFO, operator, or functional leader.
- Decisive under ambiguity. You create clarity without pretending the source data or organization is cleaner than it is.
About the interview
Three to four conversations with the founders, engineering, and delivery team, followed by a paid architecture exercise using a realistic multi-system customer scenario. We will focus on how you interrogate the data, frame tradeoffs, and create a design that can actually be implemented.
