About the Company
Prosights is a data transformation partner to the largest private equity-backed portfolio companies. We unify messy data after M&A, turn documents into clean structured data, replace spreadsheet workflows with real software, and keep data in sync across disparate systems. We embed engineers inside the company, ship a working prototype in 48 hours, and have production software live in about four weeks. More than 70% of the 10 largest PE firms have used ProSights.
What you would build
- Reusable application modules. Configurable tables, review queues, exception handling, approvals, search, citations, audit trails, and admin surfaces that deployment teams can assemble quickly.
- Data platform services. Shared ingestion, schema mapping, validation, lineage, permissions, and writeback services across documents, APIs, warehouses, ERPs, and CRMs.
- AI runtime infrastructure. Model routing, prompt and tool registries, evaluation harnesses, memory layers, human review, and production observability.
- Internal developer tooling. Local environments, deployment templates, component libraries, test fixtures, release workflows, and diagnostics that remove friction from delivery.
- Production foundations. Authentication, RBAC, tenant boundaries, workflow state, background jobs, monitoring, and reliability patterns that hold up inside enterprise environments.
What the job is actually like
- Work directly with Forward Deployed Engineers to identify what should become product and what should remain customer-specific.
- Move between frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure based on where the reusable bottleneck is.
- Ship incrementally into live deployments rather than waiting for a perfect platform redesign.
- Set standards for architecture, testing, reviews, and operability while the engineering team grows quickly.
- Stay close enough to customers to know whether the abstraction actually makes delivery better.
Who you are
- Senior product engineer. 6+ years shipping production software and owning meaningful systems beyond the first release.
- Full-stack by default. Strong in TypeScript, React, Python, SQL, APIs, queues, and relational data modeling.
- Platform-minded, not platform-first. You know when repetition justifies an abstraction and when the team should keep shipping.
- Operationally serious. You design for permissions, migrations, testing, observability, and support—not only the happy path.
- Clear and low ego. You can lead technical decisions, accept evidence from the field, and make other engineers faster.
About the interview
Three to four conversations with the founders and engineering team, followed by a paid work trial on a real product or platform problem. We will look at how you choose boundaries, make tradeoffs, and turn an ambiguous need into software another engineer can use. You will also meet the team over dinner, lunch, or coffee.
